Interception

Attack an enemy fleet mid-flight, before it arrives. You must first spot it on radar, then catch up with it.

Interception

Interception lets you attack an enemy fleet while it is in flight, before it reaches its destination. It happens in two steps: spot the target fleet with your radars, then catch up to it to trigger a battle. Combat rules are identical to a regular space battle.

Prerequisite: detecting the enemy fleet

To launch an interception, the enemy fleet must be visible on the map. A fleet only appears if it is detected by the radar of one of your planets or one of your fleets.

Detection from a planet

Your planets' passive radar (boosted by the Orbital Station) detects enemy fleets passing within range.

Detection from a fleet

A fleet equipped with radar modules can detect enemy fleets at greater range and track them in real time.

Launching an interception

  1. 1

    Locate the enemy fleet

The target fleet must appear on the galaxy map. If it is not detected by your radars, you cannot intercept it.

  2. 2

Select the fleet and choose the mission

Click on the visible enemy fleet on the map to open the context menu, then select the Interception mission from one of your fleets.

  3. 3

    Send the interceptor

Choose the fleet that will intercept and confirm. The interceptor heads towards the target's current position and adjusts its trajectory each time the position updates.

Pursuit and catch-up

The interceptor tries to reach the target fleet's position. Combat only triggers if the interceptor physically catches up to the target. Speed is therefore the decisive factor.

Target still detected

As long as your radar maintains detection, the interceptor updates its trajectory in real time to follow the target. The pursuit is continuous.

Contact lost

If the target moves out of your radars' range, the interceptor continues toward the last known position. If the target is no longer there upon arrival, no combat occurs.

The battle

When the interceptor catches the target fleet, a space battle triggers immediately at the catch-up position, following the same rules as a planetary attack (simultaneous firing rounds, resistances, etc.). No planetary defenses are present β€” only the fleets fight.

Interceptor wins

The intercepted fleet is destroyed or reduced. The interceptor can loot part of the transported resources.

Intercepted fleet wins

The interceptor is destroyed or repelled. The target fleet continues on its way.

Draw

Both fleets survive with losses. The intercepted fleet resumes its mission.

Resource looting

Upon victory, the interceptor can seize up to 50% of the resources carried by the intercepted fleet, within its own cargo capacity. Equipment and populations transported by the intercepted fleet that exceed its remaining capacity are converted into ruins at the battle position.

Tips

  • Speed is decisive: a fleet slower than its target will never catch it if they start from the same distance.
  • Position a radar fleet as a scout to maintain detection throughout the pursuit and avoid losing the target.
  • Attack protection rules apply: you cannot intercept a player if the points ratio does not allow it.
